Jazz Phrasing & Timing

This is my “good for everything” lesson! One of the most ignored aspects of musicianship is what we call “TIME” – a swinging, rhythmic feel and groove! I have chosen a simple minor blues so that we can concentrate completely on a solid time and rhythm. We will go through examples of fluent jazzy lines for soloing and chords for a groovy accompaniment. Plus some useful ideas for practicing with a metronome, forever applicable! So, as we all know: It don’t mean a thing, if it ain’t got that swing!
